Yonkers Public Library (Meeting ID: 934 0252 3318)

Author Patricia Vaccarino will talk about her latest book The Death of a Library: An American Tragedy. She will then lead a discussion about it and answer questions.

Her book is about The Yonkers Carnegie Library. It was a grand object of permanence and beauty, a
beacon of hope in a city that no longer reigned as a queen in manufacturing. Yet the
library was destroyed in 1982. Many years later, crazy speculation about the library’s
demise still runs rampant.
What really happened?
